Another Day at the Office
It’s been pretty quiet around here for a few days. And by “here” I, of course, mean MushBrain.net and not my home because home is never really quiet anymore. As Elliott likes to point out, the “pitter patter of little feet” cliché is really way off base. Those little feet sound much more like a stampede of elephants, especially from an office in the basement. But I digress.
While some people think that a SAHM’s life is easy as pie — sitting at home watching soaps; eating Bon-Bons; no schedules; no meetings; no 6-minute billing increments — the workaholic’s maxim that you must “leave it at the office” is not a luxury available to SAHMs. My life is my office. So, much as I would love to wrap up the day’s work in her purple blanket, enjoy a few pages of a book on the commute downstairs, and retire to a quiet evening of wine-sipping and blogging, I can not. Because tonight I’ll be working late again for my most important client. First, I’ll have to figure out how to make this “mommy snake with babies and little worms”
into something resembling this.
Then I’ll be trying to figure out how to get this
back inside this.
It only took me a month to figure out it could come out, so this should be interesting. At least my office has a couch and a TV.
